a�?EDUCHANGEa�? is a successful project that has been going in the school a�?Media L.Da Vinci a�� Soccolongoa�? for 6 weeks, starting from 8th April 2015. The main aim of the project is to give the children a perspective into a world and country so different from theirs. The project has been headed by Mugdhaa Banerjee, a 19 year exchange from India. She is a university student who is pursuing a triple major in Economics, Psychology and Sociology from Christ University, Bangalore.
The important arenas that are being covered in the form of activities and discussions target the students to be enriched in Asiaa��s culture. Focusing on India, they have been taught the brief of Indiaa��s geography, history, festivals, food, dress, language, flag, religion, marriage, dance and music, Bollywood, yoga and food. The classes have all been conducted in English, highlighting its importance as an international language and the value of global citizenship.
a�?My experience in these 6 weeks has been extraordinary. It has been a learning not only for the children but also for me as an individual. When I came to Italy, I was very skeptical on how I would be dealing with the lessons as I do not know Italian. But with the support of the students and the teachers, I have had no problems so far. Communication has been fun and I do hope that in this short time, I have been able to make a difference in the childrena��s life. As I leave back for India, I take back with me the memories of a lifetime and the friendship of the entire school. Thanks to the school director and to the English teachers for having me here and I sincerely hope that I would be given the chance to return again.a�?
